DoD Customers & Commitment to Excellence 2002
Green Valley Transportation Corporation has been a prime Guaranteed Traffic (GT) carrier for the Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin (DDJC) Dedicated Truck Lanes since September 1995. Green Valley Transportation carries freight to 20 Dedicated Truck Service delivery points for DDJC; thus being one of the high volume carriers. These lanes are all time definite pickup and delivery. Green Valley Transportation continually has a 100% on time service performance record. They have hauled over 9 million pounds of freight with dual drivers, expedited service, and exclusive use of trailers for DDJC between January 1, 2002 and September 30, 2002. With overnight service to 15 delivery points and the consolidation of all priorities onto the Dedicated Trucks, Green Valley Transportation has enabled DDJC to achieve transportation cost savings in excess of $5M on these routes.
Green Valley Transportation Corporation has been proactive in assisting the establishment of new lanes of traffic for Dedicated Trucks. Their input has been effective in establishing successful lanes. This also includes working with customers to reconfigure Dedicated Truck timing and sequence of stops and splits to meet security requirements and changes in customer needs.
Green Valley Transportation's Corporation management continually demonstrates the), are readily available to provide equipment and manpower to meet any emergency situation or workload increase that DDJC may incur. They have partnered with DDJC to meet customer's needs in tight time frames. For Exercise Millennium Challenge 02, troops from Ft Lewis, WA were deploying to the National Training Center, Ft Irwin. DDJC partnered with Green Valley Transportation Corporation to assemble and deliver in a timely manner ten specific configured loads of a new re-supply concept called Container Roll-on Roll-off Platforms (CROPS). Green Valley Transportation was there to make timely delivery of Afghanistan refugee relief shipments of tents and blankets, 9/11 relief shipments, and redistribution of stock to Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna Pennsylvania.
The communication and partnership between DDJC and Green Valley Transportation, at all levels, is exceptional. Occasionally, at the customers' request, more deliveries must be made, or changes to different delivery points, and Green Valley Transportation rallies to the request without hesitation, ensuring a smooth transition for the customer, DDJC, and Green Valley Transportation. An example of this was NAS Whidbey Island requiring that delivery be made hours earlier than the established deliver), time. Green Valley Transportation brainstormed with the DDJC Dedicated Truck Team and devised an effective and efficient plan to ensure a timely delivery without interruption to the customer; In addition, these efforts have greatly decreased-Customer Wait Time (CWT).
Green Valley-Partnering with DoD to provide a seamless supply chain connecting shippers with customers.
